Regional
Development Committees have been formed throughout
55 regional development areas throughout Australia
with the focus on developing a ‘Regional Plan’ which
provides an overview of a particular region,
including a description of the region, its
attributes, industry, agricultural and employment
base and key advantages, key issues, goals and
priorities for action. In Queensland, such a plan is
known as the ‘Regional Roadmap’ to avoid confusion
with existing state regional polices and documents.
The development of this regional roadmap has been
prepared through a detailed and collaborative
approach to identifying the key issues and top
priorities for the Darling Downs and South West
region.
RDA
Darling Downs and South West Inc. with the
involvement of various stakeholders represented
throughout the region, has provided a regional
roadmap that addresses and highlights emerging and
current economic, social and environmental issues
and priorities within the region. The Darling Downs
and South West regional roadmap will be guided and
implemented through the leadership of the RDA
Darling Downs and South West Inc. committee within a
framework of existing Local, State and Federal
policies.
To
ensure the implementation of the Regional Roadmap,
RDA Darling Downs and South West Inc. will
periodically review the document to ensure it is
consistent with the current and future regional
